The Vision
The Labyrinth Guild NZ is a growing network and shared sanctuary for those who walk with, create, steward, and facilitate labyrinths across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Rooted in the ancient wisdom of the labyrinth as a sacred spiral of reflection, healing, and transformation, the Guild exists to connect people, places, and stories — honouring both the land the labyrinths are built upon and the lived experiences of those who tend and walk them.
Labyrinth Guild NZ will serve as a living map of the labyrinths of Aotearoa — featuring locations, events, and gatherings, and sharing the stories behind each labyrinth: the whenua they rest on, the hands that shaped them, and the journeys they continue to hold.
Alongside this, the Guild will offer resources, event listings, and educational pathways that bring together labyrinth walkers, facilitators, healers, artists, and practitioners working in both sacred and secular contexts. This is a space where personal practice, community ritual, wellbeing, creativity, and professional facilitation can coexist and enrich one another.
Founded by Sonya Lyn, Advanced Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator, the Guild is guided by over 21 years of study, practice, and lived devotion to the labyrinth. Sonya’s work centres on making the labyrinth accessible, meaningful, and alive — not as a relic of the past, but as a living practice for our times.
A documentary exploring the labyrinths of Aotearoa New Zealand is currently in development, weaving together place, people, and pilgrimage.
Labyrinth Guild NZ will evolve into an extensive website and independent non-profit organisation. As we grow, it will host in-person gatherings, workshops, trainings, and pilgrimages, fostering a deeply connected community for those called to walk the spiral path together.
A Living, Growing Guild
Labyrinth Guild NZ is in its early stages of growth. Over time, it will evolve into a membership-based collective offering online gatherings, shared resources, courses, and in-person events for those wishing to deepen their relationship with the labyrinth.
Those who feel called are warmly invited to register their interest and become part of this unfolding journey.
